:: Who am I?

I received my Masters degree (german: Diplom) in Business Administration and Computer Science (german: Wirtschaftsinformatik) from the University of Mannheim in 2005. I have been a member of the database research group from July 2005 to March 2010 and successfully defended my thesis in August 2010.

:: Research

The main focus of my dissertation was the development of Demaq, a system for declarative XML message processing. Interesting topics in this context are, among others, declarative languages for application specification, XML query processing, efficient message processing, application scalability and parallelization, reliable distributed communication, as well as transaction support and recovery. More information is available at the Demaq project homepage. A list of related publications can be found by following the publications link above.

:: Thesis

An online version of my PhD thesis "Building Scalable, Distributed Applications with Declarative Messaging" is available for download here. You can also order a printed copy published at Verlag Dr. Hut under ISBN 978-3-86853-586-0.
